05. La possibilité d'une île
published at 12/03/2018
SPECIAL APPRECIATION
Awarded on the 26th of June 2018 by a jury of professionals renowned in the world of garden art
Is it possible? That’s a question many of us sometimes, often or even constantly ask ourselves.
Is it possible for a tree to grow in the middle of a surface of water?
What with climate change, floods, and rising rivers that overflow their beds, there is sure to be less space available and we shall have to ask ourselves how we are going to fare in a different environment.
This garden is a place of meditation and tranquillity. It is also a garden of curiosity, inviting visitors to discover the hidden meaning of an almost empty plot, entirely covered in water with a single tree planted in its midst. Water and reflections both fascinate us. The water mirror acts as a stage, transforming the audience into protagonists in their visit.
