24. Le creux de la main
In this garden, time seems to stand still, the floor has turned to stone.
On sloping ground, frozen elements offer matter for relaxation to the BODY and image for meditation to the SOUL.
Take time to go into the sunny clearing, to spy on the visitors through bamboo opera glasses, to smell the freshness of the forest plants around you, to listen to the insects gathering pollen, the birds feeding and singing, the lapping of the blue crayfish. Watch the raindrops dripping down, the dreaming walkers strolling along… and suddenly, this space will become a garden.

Juliette Berny, geographer and photographer. Born on 5 January 1984 in Chevreuse. She is passionate about Garden Art and botany and has a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from the Denis Diderot Paris 7 University. She is a member of the professional photographers collective “La Clic” and the Palaiseau photography club and she won first prize in the Ile de France section of the FNAC photography competition “Les Récréations photographiques” [Photographic Recreations] in 2009.
Fanny Cassat, government-approved landscape architect. Born on 1 December 1982 in Toulouse. She has a DNAP [National Diploma in Visual Arts] in Space Design from the Fine Arts School and a degree in development from the Institut d’Urbanisme [Town Planning Institute] in Lyons. She discovered the world of gardens during her studies at the “Ecole du Paysage” [Landscape Institute] in Versailles, while working with a botanist in Brazil, then in a nursery. She has designed, created and monitored the maintenance of several private gardens. As the cofounder of the “Semis Public” association, she sets up projects for stimulating urban wastelands (Guyancourt, Paris).
Renaud Lecreff, government-approved landscape architect. Born on 9 January 1985 in Saint Cloud. He has a “DEUG” [two-year general university diploma] in Life Sciences with a specialism in landscape and development, in the unusual environment of the botanical garden of the University of Orsay. He has designed, created and monitored the maintenance of several private gardens and, within the framework of his final diploma, he worked on the link between garden projects and urban projects. As the cofounder of the “Semis Public” association, he sets up projects for stimulating urban wastelands (Guyancourt, Paris).
