15. Ocre Loire
Hommage à Olivier Debré
published at 19/06/2018
This garden is a variation on subtle colours, with the Loire as its starting point, due to its proximity to the gardens and because it has bestowed almost everything upon this region.
Some artists, like Olivier Debré, have taken an interest in the greatness and prosperity of this river, often called the “last great river of Europe”. He worked on the banks of the river on huge canvases. He took great care to depict the chromatic ambience of the chosen site.
The Ocre Loire, hommage à Olivier Debré garden (Ochre Loire, homage to Olivier Debré), is also a fragment of the river, a rediscovery of a landscape rich in materials and light. Colour is handled with subtlety, taking up various shades of yellow working on the black slate backgrounds.
