23. Météore
Craters, a geyser and fogs inspired the creation of this garden. Similar to when a meteor falls to earth, the vacuum itself becomes creator of life and colours. Emptiness gives birth to fullness. Colour is born out of darkness. The space in this garden is organized into to two different units: a humid environment and an arid crater environment. The link between these two environments is an explosion of flowers, a real ecotone characterized by gradations of colours, running from the warmest to the coldest. These little-known plants (dye plants), such as true indigo or woad (pastel), play with the rock materials that have been taken directly from their natural environment.

Nicola Lo Calzo is an Italian landscape artist and photographer, who was born in Turin in 1979. He attended visual arts workshops and got a masters degree in landscape architecture at the Polytechnic in Turin in 2004. At the same time, he also devoted himself to his other passion, photography, carrying out several projects and collaborative works related to the paesaggio italiano (Italian landscape), in particular Italian Renaissance gardens. He has worked in Rome at the Heritage Institute, in Dublin for the Murray & Associates practice, and recently in Paris for the Alexandre Chemetoff Landscape practice. In 2006, within the framework of the Bilbao Garden Festival, he presented the Giardino Inspirato (Inspired Garden), a land-art installation inspired by the Mediterranean imagination. His personal approach tends to combine photography and landscape architecture, seeing them as two complimentary tools, in order to investigate and give value to the relationship between human beings and their social environment. He has been based in Paris since 2006 and is currently working on a photography project devoted to the Niger River, in which he is dealing with the relationship between the river landscape and the populations which live there (in collaboration with the Val de Marne Local Council).
François Bosset is a French landscape architecture designer from the ESAJ (National Higher Institute for Garden Architecture), born in Evreux (Eure) in 1979. He has always wanted to have a role in discovering, communicating and shaping the landscape. He got his qualification as a landscape architecture designer at the Higher National Institute for Garden Architecture in 2007. His experience was shaped in all areas of landscape, in the field, in the office and in the street. For him, the landscape architecture designer manages the space between sky and earth with all the elements he has to hand. The landscape architecture designer is involved with everything, he is at once: Horticulturalist, Architect, Town Planner, Engineer, Sociologist, Mason, Lighting Designer, etc. Nowadays he is working at the Alexandre Chemetoff practice in the Ile de France, where he is responsible (along with other colleagues) for designing public areas for the city of Nancy. His profession as a landscape architecture designer is a real passion for him, which goes well beyond his work. Nowadays, along with Adrien Deffosse and the AVA Association, he is responsible for creating and coordinating shared gardens in Paris with various associations on a voluntary basis. He is always looking for new challenges and projects to live out his passion.
