DESIGNER

Anne Marlangeon is an artist and her life is the story of a successful conversion. After passing her baccalaureate in 1977, she studied law and worked as a lawyer in the food industry for 20 years, “doing what was expected of her”. Then, at the age of 40, she turned her life upside down and reinvented herself, to be fully aligned with her passions and values. She started again from scratch: opening an art studio in the Paris region in 2005, then studying art at the École des Arts de la Sorbonne, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in fine arts in 2017 and a Master's in ‘Creation and Contemporary Plastic Arts’ in 2019. Her studies helped her develop and professionalise her artistic approach: Anne Marlangeon examines different narratives of memory, which she translates into plastic forms, through installations of testimonial objects and plants. She also questions the body’s memory through her paintings and sculptures. Her research thus explores the many environments of memory, making up its ecosystem, in order to study whether memory and its mediums are always a question of narration. Plants play an essential role in her work. She has already designed a garden for the Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival, an artist's studio garden called Inspiration with her friend Michel Lopez in 2017, and she also created the scenography for a garden for the Festival des Jardins de la Côte d'Azur in 2021. Her installations were also exhibited as part of Vivant Végétal, alongside Sorbonne professors and artists in 2021. She has now been living in Anjou, her childhood home, for two years, where her clients include an artisanal organic seed company whose visual communication she creates through her watercolours of plants. Now, she is once again embarking on the wonderful adventure of creating a garden at Chaumont-sur-Loire, alone this time.
